Robert “Bob” Ligon, 82, of Midland, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at his home. He was born in Henderson, Tennessee on June 14, 1941 to the late Robert E. Lee Ligon and Annie Mozella Newman Ligon.
Bob faithfully served his country with the United States Air Force for 25 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, Bob served during the Vietnam War and was stationed both stateside abroad. Bob meet his wife Julie in May of 1981 and they were married in February of 1982. After a number of years of retirement, he and Julie settled close to family. Bob loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a man of many talents and strengths to include woodworking, growing vegetables and flowers, and an all-around handyman. Bob was Christian by faith, he was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church. His faith was a beacon unto all, his love for his family, his church, his country, and anyone he had the opportunity to meet. Bob will be missed by all, but his legacy lives with all who loved him.
He leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his wife Julie A. Ligon; his children: Bernadette McGregor (William) and Robert T. Ligon; his grandchildren: Audrey McGregor Toles, Stefanie McGregor, Karen McGregor, and William McGregor; his great grandchildren: Azara Watts, Oaklyn Toles, and Darren McGregor; his mother-in-law Jean Fleisch; his brother-in-law David Fleisch (Heidi); and many other family and close friends whom were like family.

A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Family will visit with friends after the service.
