Raymond L. Weaver, 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Muscogee Manor surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Main Post Cemetery, with Dr. Tommy A. Henschel officiating.
Raymond was born May 24, 1932 in Mangum, Oklahoma, the son of the late Tom and Hattie Weaver. He married his beautiful wife, Eileen, and they spent many cherished years together. Mr. Weaver served in the Navy, Air Force, and Army, retiring from the Army and enlisting in civil service at Ft. Benning until his retirement in 1991. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post 121. He had one of the largest collection of novelty radios in the world, featured in many news and magazine articles.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen Weaver; two brothers, Edgar and Paul Weaver; and one sister, Marie Scalf. Survivors include his three children, Sandra J. Weaver, Edgar D. Weaver, and Kenneth L. Weaver; three grandchildren, Ella Weaver, Callie Rae Ashley (Patrick), and Sydney Poe (Daniel); one sister, Ethelene Weaver.
