Raymond H. Bray, 78, of Columbus, Georgia died on Saturday February 6, 2021 at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Raymond will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bud Passmore officiating. Burial will follow the services in Parkhill Cemetery. For the safety of all attending, wearing of a face covering is recommended along with practicing social distancing.
Raymond was born on March 29, 1942 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Ezekiel LeBlanc Bray and John Thomas Bray. His family moved to Columbus, Georgia when Raymond was a small child. Raymond attended Jordan Vocational High School. He married Kathryn Kimbrel April 6, 1968. Together they made Columbus, Georgia home, where they raised their two children, Brian and Heather. Raymond loved classic cars and hot rods. He shared that passion with his grandson, nieces & nephews and enjoyed going to car shows with his family.
He leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his wife, Kathryn Bray; his daughter, Heather Williams; his son, Brian (Erin) Bray; his grandchildren: Gabriel Williams, Grace Williams, Madison Rust, and Dylan Rust; his brothers: Glen (Edie) Bray, Eddie (Debra) Bray, and Jeff (Heather) Bray; his brother-in-law, Thomas Shehane; nieces, Debbie Motycka & Glenda Lee; nephews, Mike Motycka & Philip Lee; and numerous other family members.
