A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 26, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
Mr. Bell faithfully served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Bell received the following decorations, medal, badges, commendations, citations and campaign ribbons: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Star and 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, 7 Overseas Service Bars, Expert (M-16) Expert (.45 Caliber Pistol), Meritorious Service Medal, 6 Service Stripes.
After Mr. Bell retired from the Army, he worked at being a master tool craftsman. In other words, he was a master at anything he set his mind at and did a good job at it, no matter the task. Mr. Bell laid down his tools and became a master at being retired. He enjoyed watching TV, this became his favorite past time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Liz Bell; his wife, Margaret Cox Bell; his daughter, Sandra Bledsoe Bell and his brother, Frankie Bell. Mr. Bell is survived by his daughter, Mary Dunn; son Andy (Lacey) Bell-Andy’s children: Dalton Bell and Hannah Bell; his grandson, Jonathan Dunn (Shelby Castleberry); and his brother, Shorty Bell of Flomaton, Alabama.
