A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. with Reverend Ed Brawner officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers will be Eddy Tefft, Robby Tefft, Tim Tefft, Sherwood Colwell, Jake Wilton and Nic Clark, Honorary Pallbearers are, Isaiah Steele, Kevin Ballangee, Dan Kirkland and Terry Eiland.
Paul was born in Columbus, GA on October 27, 1927 to the late William Paul Tefft and Willie Mae Fields Tefft. He was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle of Praise in Columbus. Paul was the former owner of Paul Tefft’s Garage and Tefft’s Tree Service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Teresa Tefft, William Tefft, Reford Tefft, Louise Tefft Barry, and Henry R. Tefft and one great grandchild. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and devoted friend to those who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Louise E. Tefft of Shiloh, GA, three children, Bobby L. Tefft and wife Jimmie of Columbus, Eddy R. Tefft and wife Donna of Fortson, and Donna T. Colwell and husband Sherwood of Waverly Hall; seven grandchildren, Robby Tefft, Tim Tefft, Hope Kirkland, Hilary Ballangee, Carmen Clark, Camille Steele, and Haley Lyman, and 14 great grandchildren.
