Paul Adams Spencer

Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.Paul Adams Spencer, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away surrounded by his loving family at Columbus Hospice on March 27, 2016. Paul was born August 29, 1925 in Tuscaloosa, AL to his late parents Florence and John Spencer. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School before entering the Navy and was a WWII Veteran. Paul received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Louisville. Paul had a career in Insurance and served as Regional Vice President of AFLAC before retireing. He was a member of the AFLAC Founder's Club and enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening. Paul attended North Highland Church, and his passion was his family.

The family will receive guests March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm, 1 hour prior to the 2:00 pm Celebration of Paul's Life at North Highland Church, 7300 Whittlesey Blvd, Columbus, GA, followed by a private family interment. Pastor Dennis Lacy will officiate.

Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by fifteen siblings. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Brown Spencer of Columbus, GA; One son, Stephen Spencer of Columbus; One daughter, Paula (John) Posey of Columbus; grandchildren, Chris Posey, Sarah (Patrick) Reeves and Rachel Posey; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Paul's Memory to North Highland Church, 7300 Whittlesey Blvd, Columbus, GA 31909.
