She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved all people and believed in treating people with kindness and humility. Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But, the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13.
She retired from the Army, Air Force Exchange after 20 plus years of devoted service. She was a member of East Highland United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women’s Society of Christian Service where she received the honor of Women of the Year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Annie Kelley; her husband, William Teal Allen; her sisters, Pauline, Annie Ruth, Bernice, Nannie Lee, and Alise; and her brother, Charles.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Allen Taylor, Pat Allen Weekley (Fred), special daughter, Martha McNally; grandsons, Brent Taylor of Walhalla, SC, Brad Taylor (Heather) of Columbus, GA, and Blake Taylor (Kieley) of Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren, Aiken Taylor, Ashton Grimes, Hadley, Landry, and Hayes Taylor as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and her sisters, Mary Williams of Flint, TX, and Margaret Leach (Max) of Burlington, NC. Her grand-dogs Piper, Slider, and Mable.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, at 2:00 pm, at Striffler-Hamby, Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Mark Sasser, Dr. Craig Bowers, and Dr. Kevin Calhoun presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Fred Weekley, Brad Taylor, Brent Taylor, Ashton Grimes, Dr. Mark Saxton, Mr. Percy Hill. Honorary Pallbearers are Blake Taylor, Aiken Taylor, and Jasper Tanner.
Our family would like to express sincere gratitude to those who loved mom like family- Dr. Mark Sexton, who showed compassion and grace; Connie King and Tracy Tom, RNs and friends who loved and checked on her regularly; Deyka Smith, who prayed without ceasing; and Nora Simms, caregiver.
