MSGT (Ret USAF) Monty Dean Murphy, age 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Burial with USAF Honors will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Monty was born in Perry, FL on August 30, 1935 to the late Rufus Murphy and Gertrue Blue Murphy. He was a US Air Force Veteran having served for over 20 years. After his military retirement he started Monty D. Murphy CPA. Monty was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Miller.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 66 years, Patricia Murphy, a daughter, Susan Morris, grandchildren, Natalie Aguilar, Drew Aguilar, William "Billy" Miller, Spencer Morris, and Margaret Schumann, one great grandchild, Cameran Schumann, and a brother, Ronald Murphy.
