Michael Marvin Tate, age 44, of Box Springs, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022. A visitation for the family and friends of Michael will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907, and on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM, the funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Michael was born June 27, 1978, in Columbus, Georgia; the son of Michael Marvin Tate, Sr., and Sylvia Brown Tate. Michael graduated from Central High School and he was a member of Geneva Church. Michael was employed by Moving Office Equipment (MOE), he loved working there. Michael enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing were two of his favorite hobbies. He was a member of Deer Trail Hunting Club and he was a volunteer firefighter. Michael strived to be a good person, especially a good father, son, uncle, and friend. He loved his family dearly.
Michael is preceded in death by: his, mother, Sylvia D. Brown Tate; his sister, Marie Tate; his grandfather, Marvin Z. Tate; and his grandmother, Vonnie L. Tate.
Survivors include: his father, Michael M. Tate, Sr.; his daughter, Amber M. Tate; his son, Dakotah M. Tate; stepmother, Vivian L. Tate; his brother, Joshua L. Guthrie; his sisters, Amanda Guthrie; Felicia M. Tate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
