Throughout his life Max touched so many lives. He was known for his many loving qualities and hardworking traits, he dedicated 50 plus years to his body shop business, Helms Brothers body shop.
Max battled two types of cancer in the past three years, he battled it with a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. Even though he was sick and not feeling his best, he was always one phone call away to help his friends and family whenever they needed him.
Beyond his life at Helms Bros, he was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many. Max will forever be cherished and his memories treasured.
Max had a passion for cars, it showed through his business and his hobby of restoring antique cars. He always found solace in working on and tinkering around in his garage, rebuilding his cars from the ground up.
Max’s kindness, knowledge and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He cared deeply for everyone he met, be it a customer or a longtime friend he loved and cared for them all like family.
Max will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maxwell Helms, Sr, and Cubia Dean Nobles, brother, Michael Helms, and sister, Diane Deka.
Max is survived by his daughter, Mistie Hanner (Mark), son, Matthew Helms (Amanda),sister, Pam Jones, granddaughters, Kayla Hanner, Abigail Hanner, and Taylor Helms, and grandson, Justin Helms.
Though he may no longer be here with us physically, Max’s spirit will definitely live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Maxwell Helms, Jr, we love you and will miss you. May you rest in eternal peace.
