smile passed to the sweet hereafter Friday September 3, 2010 after a long
illness. She was 86 years old. She is leaving behind a legacy of love and
kindness after blessing her friends and family in so many ways especially
her talents in the kitchen and garden. Her children fondly remember her as
one who tended to the needs of others and the special love she felt for all
children. She is known for always saying "YES!" and never knew a stranger.
She was born to William and Lola Haggerty in Dadeville, Alabama and was the
last surviving child of 16 children. She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband Homer Lucas "Scotty" Scott. She is survived by her
cherished children Michael, Teresa, Gary, Neal, Truby, Cathy, Petra, Joyce,
grandchildren Nathan, Mary Hannah, Allison, David, Chandler, Christi, great
granddaughter Jenna, beloved niece and nephew Corene and Ronald and her
adored pet companion Maggie. She loved God, her family and friends
tenderly, sweetly and absolutely.
She was a member of Oak Hills Presbyterian Church in San Antonio TX. and
recently a resident of Morningside Manor in San Antonio.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday September 10th in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia, 31907, she will be laid to rest in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. A memorial service will be held in San Antonio in October.
She will be missed and loved by all whose lives she touched.
