Mary Lois Orr

Mary Lois Orr, age 86, resident of Columbus, died on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 1 p.m. with Reverend David Howle officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Orr, daughter of the late Jesse Golden and Aletha Lizzie Bryant Golden, was born February 6, 1924 in Geneva, AL. She was a homemaker and member of Glen Anthony Baptist Church, Columbus. Mrs. Orr was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Orr; two sons, Otis Orr and William Jesse Orr. She is survived by four daughters, Edna Mickschl and her husband Bob of Columbus, Melba Taccati and her husband Lynn of Columbus, Gwen Jolly and her husband Mike of Phenix City, AL, and Tabitha Labudde and her husband Garret of Columbus; two sons, Ronald B. Orr and his wife Ruby of Senoria, GA, and Kenneth W. Orr and his wife Ida of Ooltewah, TN; one sister, Mattie Pearl Curley of Columbus; 14 grandchildren, Melody, Missi, Karon, Ronald Jr, William V, Aletha, Angela S, Ricky, Angela, Eric, William D, Christie, Mary Lois, and Robert; 30 great-grandchildren; very special great-granddaughter, Halana Childs; 5 great-great grandchildren; special friend and caretaker, Kevin Hatchett; other relatives and friends.
