Mary Lois Walston Norris

It is with-a broken heart and great sadness to announce that my Mother Mary Lois Walston Norris was taken home at 9:28am Saturday morning. They took wonderful care of her at Columbus Hospice while she was there. In lieu of flowers love offerings can be made at the funeral home,

Mom was born on October 4, 1935 to Mrs. Martha Evelyn Forehand Turner and Mr. WB Turner. She attended Dixie Hight schools along with many friends including her surviving Sister Joyce Walston.

Not long after high -school she met the one and ONLY love of her life; my Dad Horace QV Norris. They were married on November 03, 1951 at the Phenix City Courthouse by Judge Burch and witnessed by both of my Grandmothers Mrs. Martha Evelyn Turner and Mrs. Bertha Mae Norris. She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Turner which made the ultimate sacrifice during the Viet Nam War. And then she lost another brother Byron Turner, Retired United States Airforce. And was also preceded by her Mother and Father Martha Evelyn Turner and WB Turner. Her remaining siblings include her eldest brother George Walston, sister Joyce Walston, Joe Turner and Bob Turner. Mom was separated from her beloved QV on July 02,2020 and reunited on February 06, 2021.

She leaves behind her youngest son Christopher Keith Norris born September 25th, 1959. Graduated Kendrick High June 1977. United States Navy January 1985 to August 1992. Associates of Science Degree Columbus State University 1994. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice 1995 and Master’s Degree in Public Administration 1996. Currently employed by Humana as a licensed agent and Medicare Specialist.

The eldest son Steve Wayne Norris born on September 3, 1952. Retired in the hills of Tennessee Her Gran-daughter Penney Renee Norris Maddox (Born on Mom’s birthday FINALLY giving her a daughter) and her daughter Haley Morales Ammons and Son Mikey Phillips and his two sons, Drew and Nathen/ Nate. Her youngest granddaughter Angee Renee Norris- Morales and her son, Moms great grandson, Jordan Walters and her Beloved Summer Girl, her Great Granddaughter. Summer’s daughter Blakely and the still under construction Austynn Mary Mae Cantrell). And Jacob Norris her grandson and Jake’s son Malex, her Great Grandson.

We were blessed to have such wonderful parents like Mom and Dad. We love them both so very much and I refuse to say goodbye or let go. I know we will all be together once again at the perfect time and place. Who knows; I might be on-time for that reunion! 😊
