Mary Jo Colwell

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Bigham Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Colwell was born in Covington County, AL. on June 15, 1916 to the late Henry Owens and Sarah King Owens. She has lived in Columbus for most of her life and was a homemaker. Her husband George O. Colwell and a son, Guy Owens preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Gerald O. Colwell of Columbus, GA, John Colwell of Birmingham, AL, Gene Colwell of Columbus, GA, Tim Colwell (Tammy) of Pine Mountain, GA, Diane Ward (Charlie) of Columbus, GA, Glenda Monhof (Neill) of Salem, AL, Mary Goolsby (Kenny) of Cataula, GA, Helen Magill of Columbus, GA, and Judy Waldrup (Ken) of Phenix City, AL, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
