Mary truly loved the Lord and she lived her life in accordance with his will. She was known not only for always being there for her family and friends but for her kindness and compassion for anyone in need to include strangers.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 63 years, Marlion Allen and loved her two children, Angie Charter and Mike Allen and daughter-in-law, Tammy Allen unconditionally. She was known as “MeeMee” to her three grandchildren, Morgan, Charlie and Drake whom she adored.
Mary enjoyed playing bridge and canasta with her many friends. She also loved to travel and was always ready to travel with her family and friends.
Mary earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Troy State University where she graduated with honors. Mary retired with more than 30 years of service from the Federal Government where she held a position she enjoyed with Children Family Services. This job gave her great joy because helping others is what she believed she was born to do. Her favorite quote was “never look back, you’re not going that way” which describes Mary’s propensity to always focus on what was ahead. Mary was a light for all and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
