Martin Michael Pecci, Jr., 77, of Cataula, Georgia, formerly of Queens, New York passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 7, 1945 in Manhattan, New York. He was the son of the late Martin Pecci Sr. and Grace (Millilo) Pecci.
He graduated high school at Our Lady of Mt. McCarmel High School. Received his Bachelor of BA at St. Francis of Assisi, joined the Army and achieved the rank of Captain. He was a Green Beret and was in the 82nd Airborne division at Ft. Bragg. He was a Vietnam veteran. He left the military service and while in civilian life received his Master’s degree in Accounting from Columbus College. He held various positions in accounting at several corporations in Atlanta.
Martin wanted to be his own boss and left corporate life to open his own computer business. He sold and repaired computers until he retired. He was an avid watcher of movies-Star Wars, and Indiana Jones and James Bond were some of his favorites.
Martin loved spending time with his family. True to his Italian heritage, he loved Italian food.
Survived by his loving wife, Norma L. (Cheatham) Pecci; his loving children, Lorraine (Henry) McRae, Martin Pecci III, Marianne Pecci; his loving grandchildren, Nicholas McRae, Henry McRae, Jaysen Pecci, Catherine Grace Moore, Julia Ann Pecci, Lora Beth Pecci, Alexis Pecci, Anna Pecci, Lela Pecci; great-grandchildren, Blakely Moore. In addition to his loving parents, Martin was preceded in death by his loving son, Scott Pecci and his loving uncle, Anthony Millilo.
Graveside Service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 2:00PM. Pastor Jonathan Moore officiating service. Family will visit with friends Monday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, St. Elmo Chapel, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
