A celebration of life service for Jane will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 9, 2023 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Rd Columbus, Georgia 31907. Visitation will be at 12:30 PM and the service at 2:00 PM.
Jane was born February 11th, 1940 in Cusseta, Georgia to her late parents, William Floyd and Mattie Belle Culpepper. She met the love of her life, Bill Sterling, at Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia. They shared a wonderful life for sixty years. Jane worked several jobs after raising her three boys. She worked at Athens Regional Medical center in Athens, GA for over 10 years and finished her career at Second Time Around Consignment in Columbus, GA. After retirement, they moved to Cataula, GA. They were active members of Piney Grove Baptist Jane loved the Lord, decorating, gardening and watching birds in her backyard. She enjoyed activities with her children when they were young and playing cards with her grandsons. Her legacy will live on through her family and many memories with friends.
Jane is survived by her sons, Randy, Ricky and Ronnie; Randy’s wife Cheryl and their two sons, Chris and Zach; sisters and spouses Peggy Culpepper and Gloria Mastrean and spouse Dan; sisters-in-law and spouses Mary and Mack Tomlin, and an abundance of nieces and nephews among other family members and many friends.
