Marie Louise Gray, also known as Lisa, passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 84 in Midland, Georgia. She was born on February 15, 1939, in Nuremberg, Germany to Otto and Emma Schinner. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Robert L. Gray, her son Bill Gray, and brothers Fritz and Higil.
Lisa had a vibrant and lively personality. She cherished spending time outdoors in her yard, surrounded by her family and friends, dancing and embracing the joys of life. Over the years, she embarked on numerous adventures with her close friends, fondly referred to as "the ya-ya's," creating cherished memories. Lisa found joy in reading, tending to her yard, taking leisurely walks, and indulging in movies that brought laughter to her heart. Her family and great-granddaughters Hadley & Remi were her pride and joy. Making memories with her great-granddaughters and family were so very important to her. The girls will always remember fun times outside, her amazing meals and laughter. Her zest for life was contagious, and being in her presence was always a delight.
Lisa is survived by her granddaughter Emma Shelhorse and her husband Bailey, along with their children, her great-granddaughters, Hadley and Remi. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Angela Gray (Gary) and step-daughters Gloria Davis and Debbie Kohler, along with their respective families.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Moore Main Post Cemetery. The date and time of the service will be announced once confirmed. If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Marie's name to the American Heart Association, as she held this organization close to her heart.
The Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
