Margaret J. Lively, age 82, resident of Columbus, died on September 6, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services will be held at Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, GA, on Friday, September 10, 2010, 1 p.m. with Reverend Dexter James officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 10 a.m. till 12 noon. Mrs. Lively, daughter of the late John Frank McFarland and Mary Lou Heatherly McFarland, was born April 11, 1928 in Lafollette, TN. She was a homemaker and Southern Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Eugene Lively. Mrs. Lively is survived by one daughter, Anita Stearns of Columbus; one son, Gene Lively and his wife Alicia of Fortson, GA; three sisters, Barbara Greene of Lafollette, TN, Betty Strange and her husband Earl of Lafollette, TN, and Lola Lemons of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Emily Lively of Columbus and Matthew Lively, also of Columbus; other relatives and friends.
