On November 25, 1954, Linda Carol Williams was born to Leila Opal and Joseph Anderson Williams. She grew up in Columbus, Georgia in a loving household along with her older brother, Steve. Linda started playing the piano at age four, and there her love of music began. Linda graduated from Hardaway High School in 1972, and a couple of years later married John Bolen. She and John went on to have three loving sons, David Todd, Jeremy Shane, and Kyle Joseph.
Linda was not only a dedicated and loving family woman, but a talented and accomplished pianist. She played the piano and sang in many organiztions around the area. She was involved in musical theatre at the Springer Opera House and offered her talents to many local churches and events.
In April 2001, Linda married her loving husband, Mike Scantlin. She and Mike shared a love of music and the Lord. They were very involved in their church, loved to travel and see concerts together.
Linda loved family get togethers. She loved to cook, and her love showed through her food. She always made sure to have everyone's favorite dish. She loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face. She was so happy the Sunday before her passing. She had a dinner for her oldest son Todd's birthday. Her husband and sons were all there, her daughter-in-law, Shannan; her grandchildren Emily and Sawyer; her nephew Joey and his wife, Kelly; along with other friends that were so dear. Other than the Lord, she loved nothing more than her family. Seeing them all together and making memories made her so happy.
Linda was here, full of life, and in a flash she was gone. Linda died suddenly in a tragic car accident on February 2, 2011 in West Point, Georgia. Her beautiful soul is now walking the streets of gold along with her parents she so dearly loved and missed.
One of Linda's favorite songs was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Let us all remember Linda everytime we see a rainbow and know that through her loving Christian influence on our lives, we can be with her again someday.
