Kristi Chriss Tidwell of Salem, Alabama passed away at the age of 42 on April 29, 2020. She was the daughter of Susan Chriss and the late Arthur “Art” Chriss. Kristi was born on May 20, 1977; she was the youngest daughter of Susan and Art Chriss and the youngest sister to Mellanie, Sandi and Nikki. Her dad had given his daughters nicknames and Kristi was “number 4”. Kristi was a loving, caring, kind and compassionate about everything and everyone who touched her life. Full of spirit for life she gave her all at everything she did. Kristi will be forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
Kristi was class of 1995 graduate of Hardaway High School. After graduation, she went on to Auburn University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in child and family development class of 2000. Kristi would later go back to her family business at Commando Military Supply. She was Christian by faith and attended Wynnton United Methodist Church. Kristi was a joy to be around; if you were not her friend, you were sure to be her friend after being acquainted with her bubbly personality.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur R. “Art” Chriss, and her grandparents, Sue and William Chriss and Kathleen and Jake Wise.
She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her husband, Dennis Tidwell; her mother, Susan W. Chriss; her sisters, Mellanie (Tim) Vinyard, Sandi (Chuck) Carpenter and Nikki (Scott) Graham; nieces and nephews: Madison and Will Vinyard, Jake and Charlie Carpenter, Dailey and Grayson Graham, and her canine companion (her child), Bella.
A graveside service will be held in Parkhill Cemetery on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. In keeping with the efforts to ensure the safety of our community during the current pandemic the service will be livestreamed through Facebook.
