Katie Merl Horn, 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on September 28, 2023 in Lafayette, Alabama. She was born on March 16, 1936 in Bonifay, Florida to Cora and Coley Singletary. Katie married the love of her life, Johnnie Lee Horn and together they called the Columbus area home. Mrs. Horn worked with Bibb Manufacturing as a weaver for forty years before retiring. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: John Edward Horn and his wife Danelle and Cheryl Faye Jorgenson and her husband Mark; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and eleven great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her loving husband Johnnie Lee Horn; her beloved parents Cora and Coley Singletary; her beloved son James Michael Horn; her beloved daughter Rhonda Kay Fiquett; and her beloved grandson Christopher Edward Horn.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM in the Wildwood Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907. A procession will follow into Parkhill Cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 PM.
