Katie Lee Pegram Hagler

A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, followed by a Celebration of Katie's life at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall with Reverend Norman Dunlap officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery.

Katie was born on May 12, 1928 to the late Avery and Lovie Pegram in Star, North Carolina. After highschool she furthered her education at the Dental Assistant School in Charlotte, NC. While working as a Dental Assistant she met the love of her life, John B. Hagler who was on leave from the U.S. Navy for a short period.They married in 1957.

Katie loved and served her family well, she enjoyed many years of Bible study, her Bridge Club and being a Grandmother to her many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Walker.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 66 years, John B. Hagler, a son, Steve Thomas (Brenda) daughters, Kimberly Bishop (Sam) and Beverly Anker (John) all of Columbus, GA. a sister, Barbara Thomas of Rockingham, NC, grandchildren, Shannon Hutchison, Ronnie Walker, Jerry Walker, John Thomas, Will Bishop (Lindsay), Brice Bishop (Anna), Bailey Bishop, Ally Wallace (Noah) and Jenna Jones (Jeb) and several great grandchildren.
