Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service in the St. Elmo room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Bobby Murdock, Michael Govar, Robert Meadows III, Tyler Condrey,
Robert Hurst and Ashton Lawrence.
Karen was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 20, 1958 and was the daughter of Robert and the late Kathleen Meadows. She was the middle child of five children. Karen was a 1976 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School and has been a Membership Enrollment Specialist at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for the past 27 years. Karen was very spiritual. She attended Calvary Baptist Church throughout her childhood and young adulthood and loved being a part of the youth ministry at Calvary. She has always cherished the lifelong friendships she made at Calvary. She is currently a member of Cascade Hills Baptist Church.
Karen loved to read, shop, dance, play pool, play cards, and spend time with family. She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. She had a way of connecting with people. Humor was her gift to everyone she encountered- she loved to tell jokes and laugh. Karen was a loving, caring person, and was devoted to her family, especially her daughter Jessica, son-in-law Michael, and three grandchildren. Karen was truly one of a kind and part of her will live on in each of us who were lucky enough to be her family members and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen King Meadows and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Govar.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Jessica Bauer (Michael), grandchildren, Olivia Bauer, Micah Bauer and Jonah Bauer, her father, Robert Meadows, Sr., sisters, Jayne Govar, Teresa Meadows Murdock (Bobby), and Tammy Condrey, all of Columbus, GA and her brother, Bobby Meadows of Thomasville, GA; nieces and nephews, Tami Wallace, Lauren Aseron, Morgann Murdock, Michael Govar, Robert Meadows III, Allyson Murdock, Nicole Condrey and Tyler Condrey, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
