John Walter Thomas, 73, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at home. He was born March 20, 1950 in Dothan, Alabama. He was the son of the late David Lloyd and Hattie Imogene (Fletcher) Thomas.
He graduated from Columbus High School. He attended to Davidson College in North Carolina and earned a Law degree from Georgia University. John love reading.
He is survived by his sister, Margate Ellen (Comer) Alexander; his niece, Mary Virginia Wehrenberg; and his nephew, David Alexander.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1104 Second Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901 on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 2:00PM. Rev. Thad Haygood officiating service. Burial will be held privately at Parkhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John’s memory to the St. Luke United Methodist Church food bank, 1104 Second Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.
