John Thomas “Tom” Moore II was born April 23, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia. His parents were the late Dolly Oglesby Moore and Jack Lavendar Moore. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and the University of Georgia where he received a BBA in Real Estate. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity while at Georgia. His career was in the insurance industry and he retired from AFLAC in 2007 after 23 years of dedicated service. His retirement enabled him to spend time with his dad which meant the world to him. Tom was a past member of the Columbus Jaycees and an active member and Elder of Aletheia Church in Columbus, Georgia where he loved being involved in various ministries and serving God.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Vaughn Moore (Jean), and nephew Marc Moore. He is survived by his wife, Toni McLaughlin Moore, son, Steve Moore (Tina), daughter Jackie Moore (Cindie), sister, Mary Nell Blasingame (Mike), grandchildren, Aaron Rogers (Kate), Madelyn Moore, Brandon Rogers (Heather), John Thomas Moore III, Addison Moore, Avery Corey, Tommie Corey, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Tom was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoyed golf but his greatest enjoyment was riding his horse, Big Mo, with the love of his life, Toni.

Funeral services for Tom will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
