Mr. Flynn was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather who loved his family beyond words. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Flynn was an avid fan of University of Georgia football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He enjoyed watching the games with family and friends. Mr. Flynn was selflessly devoted to his family. When any of his six daughters were on a ball team, one was sure to catch their Dad right there coaching every chance he got. Mr. Flynn was Christian by faith and his life reflected this: he was his family's light, their rock, and their everything. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him - especially by those who loved him most.
The loving memories of Joe F. Flynn, III will be cherished by his loving wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Ann Flynn; his six daughters (and their husbands): Ellen Flynn, Kate (Andrew) Knotts, Laura (Ryne) Stokes, Emily (Matt) Green, Leslie (Andy) Ginn, and Leah (Kyle) Stewart; his loving grandchildren: Jaxon Joe Hegenbart, Luke Everett Stokes, Nora Ann Stokes, Madelyn Joanna Green, Evangeline Elizabeth Green, Coleman Davis Ginn, Lillie Kate Stewart, and Charlotte Lynn Ginn; his sisters: Cathy Flynn and Anne Charlotte Embling of Point Clear, AL; his mother Charlotte Meltzer of Point Clear, AL; his niece Georgia Embling; his nephews Jeffrey Davis, Robert Davis, and Trey Embling.
