She is survived by her brother, Jack Frazier (Pat); her children, Patti Trotter, Dan Trotter (Debbie), and John Trotter (Luci); eight grandchildren, Bo Trotter Oates (Marsha), Natalie Trotter Teasley (Ben), Daniel Dennie Trotter, III (Lori), Caroline Trotter Basquill-White (Nick)], Marissa Sealey Khan (Nick), Robert Augustus Alston Trotter, and Matthew Alston Tyndall Trotter; and 11 great grandchildren, Stefan Burkhalter (Katie), Madison Oates, Jackson Oates, Abigail Oates, Trotter Teasley, Canon Teasley, Giles Teasley, Fletcher Teasley, Dink Trotter, Press Trotter, and Truly Trotter).
Her older sister, Alice Frazier Land, and her younger brother, Robert “Bob” Tyndall Frazier, predeceased Mrs. Trotter.
Mrs. Trotter and her family moved to Columbus, Georgia in 1933 when she was eight years old. Her father was a paint contractor, and he contracted to paint the infantry school at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Growing up in Columbus, she lived on Broad Street in Downtown Columbus and later lived on Lawyers Lane in the Wynnton neighborhood where she married Dennie Trotter on February 22, 1944 when Mr. Trotter was home on a survivor leave during World War II. Mrs. Trotter graduated from Columbus High School in 1942.
Mrs. Trotter was married for 68 years to the late Daniel Dennie Trotter, Sr. Their love and their marriage were sublime. People were enthralled by their love for one another, their family, their friends, and others.
Mrs. Trotter was a host par excellence, cooking literally thousands of meals in the Trotter home for countless friends and associates. She and Mr. Trotter provided a warm and nurturing environment for their children and their children's friends. Mrs. Trotter, through the years, took her children and their friends to school events and ball practices and games.
The Trotter couple lived in San Diego, California while Mr. Trotter was still in the United States Navy. The couple lived in Auburn, Alabama and the family (Patti had been born by then) Nashville, Tennessee where Mr. Trotter earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Auburn University and Peabody/Vanderbilt University.
Mrs. Trotter was a devoted Christian and lived an exemplary life manifesting Christian virtues.
The Trotter family wishes to thank Deborah Crowell and the entire staff at Covenant Woods for their devoted service to our parents. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Magnolia Manor for their kind attention to their mother’s needs in her last days.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Trotter's life will be held at 11AM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 26, 2018, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
