Jerry Lloyd Hunter, 81 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. He was born on October 13, 1937 to the late Lloyd Walter Hunter and Neva Winnell Biggers Hunter in Columbus, Georgia.
Mr. Hunter served his country in the United States Air Force. He was married to his loving wife, Carol Hunter for 55years. Together they lived in Columbus and raised two loving daughters, Pam and Jacqueline. Mr. Hunter worked at Sunshine Biscuit Company for 28 years, after his retirement he enjoyed the simple life. Mr. Hunter loved Jesus and listening to gospel music. He was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. When he could Mr. Hunter loved to go fishing and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his yard and tending to the flowers, his beloved companion “Doodles” not far from his side.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery. Family will greet friends in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby from 12 noon until time of the service at 1:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Hunter; his daughters: Pam Adams and her husband Paul Adams and Jacqueline Mosher and her husband James Mosher; his grandchildren: Leslie Rowland, Hunter Mosher, and Montana Mosher; his brother, Joseph Hunter; his sister, Joanne Nichols; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Walter Hunter, his mother, Neva Winnell Hunter; his sister, Jacqueline Hunter and grandchild, Vanessa Mosher.
