Born on April 19, 1930, daughter of the late James Uleus Sasser and Lou Mills Sasser. She was one of twelve children. Jeanette married Robert Miller in 1952. Robert died in 1994. Jeanette grew up on a farm in Geneva County, Alabama. She milked cows, picked cotton, helped make cane syrup, and other farm jobs. She was a “Tom Boy”. She moved to Columbus at an early age and went to work at the Bibb Mill. She helped her parents financially, and bought her baby brother all his sports equipment. She was very generous in her giving. She loved sports, especially playing softball and bowling. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She was a dedicated member of Oates Avenue Baptist Church and then Beallwood Baptist Church Columbus, Georgia. Jeanette was active in Sunday School, church and also worked in the nursery until her health declined.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Lou Sassser; her husband Robert Miller, and nine siblings. Those left to cherish her memories are her sister, Gladys Jones and her brother David Sasser and sister-in-law Sue Sasser; grandnieces: Paige Sasser Johnson and Katie Sasser Hudgens among many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Preferred Care Hospice and The Gardens at Calvary.
