Jean H. Greene

Jean H. Greene, 86, of Columbus, GA passed Monday, December 28, 2020 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Dick Reese officiating.

Ms. Greene was born October 12, 1934 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late Curtis and Louise Hart. She would then marry William “Bo” Greene, spending many cherished years before his passing. She retired from both GMAC Finances and Gayfers Department Store. Jean was very active member in St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was a Den Mother for her boy’s cub scouts and did volunteer work for Brown Bag of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her three children, Angie Walton, William “Jay” Greene III (Susan) and Stephen “Butch” Greene; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ferring (Chris), Haley and Megan Greene, and Kimberly and Kristi Greene; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ms. Jean's honor to St. Mark United Methodist Church or Brown Bag of Columbus, GA.
