She was born on July 16, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Pearl Shaver Alexander and Albert L. Alexander. Janice was a 1951 Jordan Vocational High School graduate. She was married the late James Randolph Johnson. Janice worked with Lithokrome Printing Company for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren they were her universe. Janice also was a fan of the University of Georgia, she enjoyed going to the beach with her family and cooking holiday meals. Janice was Christian by faith and member of Northside Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School. After James’ death in May of 1995, Janice married Reverend James Curtis Flowers in 2010.
Janice leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her son, Gary Johnson; her daughter, Kay Walker; her granddaughter, Heather Williams (Daniel, Jr.); her grandsons: Nicholis Johnson (Melissa) and Tyler James Walker; her granddaughters: Olivia Walker (Nick Doherty) and Hannah Bartholf (Mason); her great grandchildren: Daniel Williams III, Gary Austin Williams, Hayden Bartholf, Hudson Patrick Doherty, and Jase Tyler Doherty; current husband, Rev. James Curtis Flowers and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Jerry Speer officiating. Burial following to Riverdale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
