James D. Talley

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 12 noon at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Dr. John Talley will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Talley was born September 4, 1920 in Heard County, GA, the son of the late J.D. Talley and the late Laura Era Baird Talley. He had lived in Columbus most of his life and was a World War II Army Veteran.

Mr. Talley retired as the assistant sales manager from the local Coca-Cola company with over forty six years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years, Helen Thomas Talley.

Survivors include his five children: Jimmy Talley (Lynda) of Columbus, John Talley (Mallie) of Winder, GA, Ann T. Johnston-Tuggle (John) of Columbus, Harold Statham of Phenix City, and Ray Statham (Lyn) of Decatur, AL; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; and his faithful K-9 companion, Bentley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wynnbrook Baptist Church Building Fund.
