Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of choice.
"Jim" was born December 15, 1946 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Louise R. Owens and James H. Owens. He was an ROTC graduate from Auburn University. After graduation he joined the United States Army, faithfully serving his country for over 20 years. During his service he served one tour during the Vietnam Conflict. Jim served as a Real Estate Agent with Kennon and Parker after retirement from the United States Army. After several years he founded Boles and Owens Real Estate Appraisers with his long time business partner Ann Boles. Jim was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering in his shop, able to repair anything. Although Jim enjoyed repairing things, his true passion was his Bible Study lessons and teaching God's Word.
"Jim" is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" O'Sullivan Owens; daughter Courtney (Derrick) Allred; sister Nena Owens and sister-in-law Courtney J. O'Sullivan. He is also survived by two nephews and one niece. "Jim" was preceded in death by; mother Louise R. Owens and father James H. Owens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in "Jim's" memory may be made to Alzheimers Association, 5900 River Rd Suite 301, Columbus, GA 31904 or to a charity of your choice.
