James "Bubba" Hunt, age 77, resident of Columbus, died on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at his residence. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, 11 a.m. with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Hunt, son of the late James Blair and Mary Joan Hunt, was bon August 10, 1934 in Shorterville, Alabama. Mr. Hunt was retired from Piggly Wiggly, where he served faithfully as a butcher for over 30 years. He is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Holmes of Atlanta, GA and Angie Hancock and her husband Terry of Columbus; three nieces, Patty Williams and her husband Walt Cannady of Atlanta, GA, Pam Haines and her husband Mike of Panama City Beach, FL, and Crystal Powell and her husband John of Columbus; three nephews, Michael Holmes and his wife Sherry of Atlanta, GA, Terry Hancock, Jr. and his wife Celeste of Meridian, MS, and Shae Hancock and his wife Becky of Wheatland, CA; nine great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
