James grew up in Cleona, PA. He was a serious but caring and loving man, and most of all a man who had a passionate love for God. James studied theology at Nazarene Bible College. He wrote a special devotional on Facebook about God that moved many people. Afterwards, he received a bachelor’s degree at Columbus State University in Social Sciences. James retired from the U.S. Army. During his time in the military he wrote newspaper articles as a hobby and loved what he did for his country. He would say the pros in the military heavily outweighed the cons. After retirement, he was a substitute teacher at Muscogee County School District. He was an avid Notre Dame and Auburn football fan. In his free time he loved spending time with his beloved wife, Sandy, and dog, Emma, as well as working in the yard and building things in his shop. He also enjoyed going on walks and photography.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Miriam Susan Ensminger and Russell “Russ” Donald Granger; Son, William “Bill” Russell Granger (Tamara); and Sister, Joan Elaine Granger Miller.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sandra “Sandy” Granger; Brother, John Douglas Granger (Donna); Three grandchildren, Heather Daniels, Julian Granger, and Scarlett Granger; Three great-grandchildren, Tessa, Mason, and Marissa; Three dear family members, Claudia, and Sylvia and Leonard Craig; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
