Jack grew up in Columbus, Georgia where he attended Jordan High School. He talked fondly about his days in the Boys Club on Warm Springs Road where he would spend most of his time hanging with his friends. Jack was known as a pigeon fancier due to raising and racing them all of his life since he was little.
He loved antiques, cars, and always had an old car or truck in his garage. You couldn’t fool him on the year or make of any car. Although his love for vehicles was high, nothing could top the love he had for his family. He had five older brothers that he stayed close to all their lives and was devoted to his parents. He was a good father who loved his children and his greatest pleasure in life was his grandchildren. He was the best “Paw Paw” imaginable, always making sure they were loved and spoiled.
Jack enjoyed his life and worked hard to make his own way. He was self-employed as a remodeling contractor, and the owner of Hendrix Remodeling for over 45 years. He was well known in the real estate community and will be missed by his long-time employees.
He is preceded in death by parents and his five brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Ratledge Hendrix; his children, Ronald Hendrix, Christy Searcy (Bucky), Hayley Hays (Tom), and Rainey Soriero; his grandchildren, Dillon Searcy (Katie), Alyssa King (Kaleb), Kyndal Hendrix, Amii Hendrix, Jesse Hendrix, Tad Soriero (Baylie), Hayden Hays and Lauren Hays and; and his great grandchildren, Gracie, Ivy, Whitley, Mills, Magnolia, Watson and Levi Jack.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, starting with visitation with the family at 1:00 PM and a service in the chapel at 2:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
As Jack stated, “Don’t be sad he was gone. He had a good life, many blessings and enjoyed it all”.
