A service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 17, 2023 in Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Pastor Bud Rupel will be officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Marvin was born January 2, 1935 in Columbus, GA. He graduated from Columbus High School and attended Columbus College. Marvin was the owner and operator of J. Marvin Mills Heating and Air. He and his wife, Mary worked tirelessly for many years serving their many customers. Marvin was a member of the Civitan Club and the GARHOFA. He was very avid NASCAR fan, even owning his own race team from 1972 through 1974. Marvin was also an avid Auburn football fan.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary, his sister, Glenda Wells, his niece, Wende Wells-Kidd and nephew, Stuart Lee Wells.
Survivors include a niece Cecilia Mills-Wells, and nephew, Stuart Mills-Wells, and numerous other family members and friends.
