Hubert V. Webb, age 98, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Saturday July 28, 2018. Hubert was born September 8, 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri to his late parents, Nora Grace Webb and Lewellyn Earl Webb. Hubert was drafted into US Army during WW II where he proudly served his country as an infantry soldier in Europe. After being discharged, he went to Barber College and began his sixty plus year career as a Barber, first at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and later moving his family to Fort Benning, Georgia. He enjoyed doing research, was an avid reader, loved to watch old westerns, collectables, memorabilia, and antiques. He loved his family and will always be remembered for his philosophy on life.
Along with his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Ann Webb. He is survived by; daughters Patricia Webb, of Columbus, Georgia, and Elizabeth Wilks of Lawrence, Kansas; son, Jerry Lee Gibson of DesMoines, Iowa; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
The family will welcome guests for visitation Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A graveside celebration of Hubert's life will begin from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A committal will follow with Reverend Mike Henson officiating.
