Henry DeBolt (Bolts) Wiley Junior passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at his residence. Bolts was born September 3, 1950, to Henry DeBolt Wiley Senior and Jane Bullock Wiley in Columbus Georgia.
Bolts graduated from Columbus High School in 1968, and from Gordon Military College in 1970. He then attended Auburn University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. While attending Auburn he started a residential construction company that he owned and operated until 1980.
In 1980 he moved his family to Albany, Georgia to create Southeastern Aluminum Recycling Inc. He served as president until his death. During this time, he was also involved in commercial and residential real estate investments.
Bolts served in the 560th Engineer Battalion Georgia Army National Guard in Columbus, Georgia for six years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Realty Company in Columbus, Georgia and was president of the DeBolt Cemetery Association (1998-2015), a family cemetery located in Illinois. He was a member of Porterfield Memorial Methodist Church where he always looked forward to participating in his monthly “Meals on Wheels” deliveries. Mr Wiley was a member of the Indoor Birdwatchers and Doublegate Country Club, both in Albany, and the Big Eddy Club in Columbus.
His greatest memories were with his friends and family at the beach, the lake, or the farm but hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family were his passion. Bolts was an amazing husband, father, grandfather (Bopie), and friend. He will be missed beyond words.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carson Bullock Wiley; a sister-in-law, Mary Browder Harcourt, and two brothers-in-laws, Richard Kruger, and David Sinkule.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Susan Browder Wiley; daughter, Brannon Wiley Freeman and her husband, Taylor Jett Freeman, their children, Wiley and Frances; and sister, Cordy Wiley Arnold (Arch); nephew, Brad Arnold (Haley), and niece, Carson Arnold DeMars (Daniel).
Other survivors include sisters and brothers-in-laws: Nancy McEntyre (Bob), Kevin Harcourt; Penny Lewallyn (Stan); Bonnie Mize (Larry), and Kristi Sinkule. Surviving nieces and nephews include: Tamara McLean (Russ), Marci Shoemaker (Frank), William Harcourt, John Harcourt (Courtney), Franklin Harcourt (Rebecca), Mark Lewallyn (Molly), Claire Lewallyn Rhyne (Rhett), David Mize (Hannah), Patrick Mize (Maria), Robert Mize (Shea).
A graveside funeral service officiated by The Rev. Josh Duckworth will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11 AM at Parkhill Cemetery on Macon Road in Columbus, Georgia.
