Helen Ruth Reed

A graveside funeral will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell Smith officiating. Family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the St. Elmo Room at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Helen was born on August 24, 1924 in Columbus, Georgia. Growing up during the Depression she learned the value of hard work and discipline. She was married to the late Roy E. Reed together they raised their three sons with those same values. Mrs. Helen worked for many years as a school crossing guard for the Muscogee County School System. After her retirement from the school system Mrs. Helen enjoyed spending time in her yard gardening and time with her family. She is preceded in death by other than her husband, her son, Michael E. Reed.

She is survived by her sons: Ronnie Reed (Angie) and Kenneth Reed (Janet); her grandchildren: Mike Reed, Lindy Moss, Ken Reed, Kim Reed, Jeff Reed, Chase Reed, and Holly Feinberg; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted, but if you wish donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
