Columbus, GA- Hazel Edith Glass, 89, of Columbus, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
A cryptside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Mark Brown officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum.
Mrs. Glass was born August 24, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, AR, daughter of the late James E. and Bertha M. Terry Prothro. She retired from AAFES at Ft. Benning, GA after many years of service and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, Rosebud, AR.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glass was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Glass and two sisters, Velma Patterson and Lola Rainwater.
Survivors include sisters Maxine Ellington, Sybil Noggle and Francis McGaha of AR; her son, Jim Lance and his wife, Nancy of Phenix City, AL; her daughter, Linda Menchaca of Pensacola, FL; one grandson, Michael Lance of Phenix City, AL; one granddaughter, Crystal Hampton and her husband, Joe of Harris County, GA; five great grandchildren, Cody Lance, Matthew Lance, Hunter Lance, A.J. Hampton and Anna Rae Hampton; two special friends, Annette Booth of Pensacola, FL and Kim Booth of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
