Frances was born in Graceville, FL. on August 14, 1940 to the late Curtis Howell Smith and Vernell Davis Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus, GA. Our sweet Frances was a true southern lady, she carried herself with dignity and grace yet was always ready for a “belly laugh” as she would say. Always thinking of others and how she might be able to help, she never met a stranger and would gladly pray for any and all at the drop of a hat. She is known as the original Cheetah girl fashionista. She was the sole proprietor of 52nd St parlor for 40 years and was truly loved by all. Always a giver, even in her very last days. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Earl “Jimmy” Connally and a brother, David Howell Smith.
Frances is survived by her son, Buster Connally (Sheila) of Elgin, SC, grandchildren, Leighanne Zempel (Phil), Meagan (Chase) Romano, Drew (Callie) Connally, Mackenzie Connally (Dalton Coe), great grandchildren, Kellin, Brayden, Carson, and Ruby, nieces, Karen Wilkins (Phillip), Stephanie Martin (Jimmy), Kelly Odom, an aunt, Lila Webb.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Highland Church in memory of Frances.
