George Wesley Morgan

George Wesley Morgan, 56, of Columbus, GA, passed peacefully Januarys 6, 2017. With his family and friends close by, especially his beloved daughter, Olivia, he heard our prayers and God’s calling to come home. The family will welcome guests for a Memorial Service Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA.

Wes, as he was known, was born September 18, 1960 in Columbus. He grew up in Talbotton, Ga and attended Brookstone School in Columbus, where he graduated in 1978. He was an accomplished natural athlete who enjoyed the thrill of competition as well as being a part of a team. He attended college in Georgia where he played baseball and expanded his ever growing network of friends. Once his playing days were done, he settled in Columbus, joined Morgan Oil Company which was founded by his grandfather and father J Leonard Morgan, Jr and married the former Leslie Eberhardt. They have one beautiful and gracious daughter, Olivia, who was the light and inspiration for her father for all of his days.
