Fred L. Davis

Fred Davis, 63 of Cusseta, Georgia passed away at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. He was proceeded in death by his sister Lorene Davis and mother, Geneva Stella Thornton of Inverness, Florida. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Anne Burgamy Davis his daughters Crystal (Stephen) Colson of Rincon, Georgia, Casey Davis of Cusseta, Georgia, and son Jansen Davis of Atlanta, Georgia and one grandson- his "buddy" Lane Colson. He is survived by 2 sisters, Joann Davis of Williston, Florida, Doris (Ronnie) Reese of Winter Haven, Florida and one brother Bennie Davis of Lakeland, Florida and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws.

Fred was employed by Cam Builders, LLC. He was a former member of the Columbus/Phenix City Homebuilders Association. Fred worked 48 years in the construction business. He also served on the Chattahoochee Board of Education for 12 years and served as Chairman of the Board, along with serving as PTA President. He also served a term on Chattahoochee County Board of Registrars. He served 8 years in the Georgia Army National Guard. Fred was a member of First Baptist Church of Cusseta.

Fred loved to fish, draw, paint, eat and he loved cars. He loved his job and he loved his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 2 from 2:00-4:00 at Striffler Hamby on Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 3rd at 3:00PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler Hamby Chapel on Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
