Frances Lee Hunt Malphrus, a resident of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on November 13th, 2024, at the age of 82. She was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, having been a dedicated member of Northside Baptist Church for over 34 years. Frances served her church community as a Faith Group leader, Sunday School teacher and leader in Women’s Ministry. She had a heart to share the love of Christ with ALL people.
Frances was a loving and selfless mother who put her family above all else. She took great joy in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending their activities and events whenever possible. Frances, fondly known as Fran, Frannie, Mee Mee, Meem’s, and Momma, has two children. Her son, Lincoln Wainwright Malphrus II and his wife Carol, along with her daughter, LeAnn Michele Dempsey and her husband Paul. Frances was blessed with four grandchildren, Brandi Portell (spouse, Mike), Roger Owens (spouse, Candace), Caleb Dempsey and Kenzie Fisher (spouse, Alex). Additional blessings include four great grandchildren, Bradley Smith, Lola Owens, Lottie Owens and Beaux Fisher. Frances' loving memory will also be cherished by her sister, Brenda Mathews and her husband, Robert; Frances' nephew, Bob Mathews and his wife, Lydia and their son, Blake Mathews.
Frances enjoyed a long career in broadcasting and television marketing. She is loved by many in the Columbus community, and she will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on November 16, 2024 at Northside Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. The family will start receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northside Baptist Church in memory of Frances Lee Hunt Malphrus.
