Florence Carlisle Heath

Florence Carlisle Heath 94, of Columbus died peacefully on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. She was born February 5, 1916 to the late Willie Madison Carlisle and Lucille Harrison Carlisle. She was also preceded in death by her husband (Ret) Lt. Colonial Henry Sanford Heath, four brothers, Henry, Stanford, Roy and James Carlisle, and four sisters, Edna C. Miles, Evelyn C. Roberts, Willetta C. Etheridge and Julia Carlisle. Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Carlisle Heath will be on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Visitation for Mrs. Heath will be from5-7 pm, Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Funeral Home. A committal service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010, 11:00 am at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.

Mrs. Florence was a member of East Highland Methodist Church and many organizations the Officers Wives club, Bridge Club, Ladies Golf Club and was very active with gardening and other activities. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Jones, two grandchildren, Eddie (Carol) Jones III, Lori (Robert) Cavis, three great-grandchildren, Harrison Jones, Coleman Jones and Aron Hardin, two sisters-in-law, Marie Carlisle and Lorene Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. For a number of years, Florence was the matriarch of the Carlisle family and will be missed sorely by many. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O.
