Faye Johnson born in Huston County Alabama on May 6, 1934, was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Perry (Enfinger). She was educated in Columbus schools and a graduate of Perry Business School. After thirty years' service, Faye retired from Lanier Worldwide in 1987 as District Manager of Columbus and Macon Georgia offices. Beginning in 1973 she served two years as President of Soroptimist International of Columbus and was named “Woman of the Year” for that organization in 1974. Faye also initiated the “Women Helping Women” award for the Columbus Chapter. In 1976 Faye served as a representative of the Mayor’s Commission on the “Status of Women” and the “Volunteer Bank for Community Services” at Columbus University. From 1978 to 1983 Faye chaired the Columbus Cooperative Extension Adviser Board. As a member of First Presbyterian Church of Columbus Faye served as past moderator of Circle No. 7 and served as an Under Shepard. Faye was married to William Osteen Johnson in 1960. She was a loving wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and Aunt.
Faye was preceded in death by her mother and father, Arthur and Mary Perry; her husband, William O. Johnson; son, Christopher Gary Johnson; sister, Dorothy Davis; brother, Sgt. Ralph Hudspeth; nephew, Jody Davis; niece, Rhonda Murdock; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank Johnson Sr, (Mary) and nephew, Frank Johnson Jr.
She is survived by: son, Greg (Shara) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Tammy Windham Johnson; Grandchildren: Emily (Tommy) Jernigan, Meghan Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Christy Diffey; Great grandchildren: Emma Grace Jernigan, Lily Faye Jernigan, Logan Thomas Jernigan, Phelham Diffey; Nieces: Louise Tolbert, Patti Riley (Jake), Jill Daly (Michael), Jenni Wallace (Cam); Great Nieces: Fran Johnson, Casey Wallace, Cam Wallace; Great Nephews: David Tolbert, Evan Tanner (Hannah), Jack Tanner.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus GA Visitation Friday July 14 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. , funeral 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Reception immediately following the funeral in the reception hall at the funeral home,
