Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 2, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA, 31907 with Father Frank Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, this evening at the funeral home with visitation to follow.
Mrs. Kavanaugh was born October 18, 1930 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late James Edward Patterson and Audra Beatrice Patterson. She had lived in Columbus for 56 years. Mrs. Kavanaugh was retired from the W.C. Bradley Co., Charbroil Division. She was a parishioner of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kavanaugh was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert M. Kavanaugh.
Survivors include three sons, Richard M. Kavanaugh of Warner Robins, GA, Robert M. Kavanaugh of Columbus, GA, and David E. Kavanaugh and his wife, Mary of Columbus, GA; two daughters and son-in-law, Susan E. and Patrick Harris of Murfeesboro, TN, and Mary Elizabeth Carvalho of Midland, GA; nine grandchildren, Bess Harris Turner, Mary Evelyn Harrison, Erin K. Kirkley, B.J. Kavanaugh, Joseph Kavanaugh, Walter Kavanaugh, John Kavanaugh, Quinn Carvalho, and Zachary Carvalho; four great grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Lauren Brown, Gus Turner, and Harris Turner.
