Emma was better known by her middle name, Carol. She was born September 10, 1946 in Columbus, GA, one of four children to the late Byron ‘Bill’ and Lillian Griffin. She was a graduate of Jordan High School, Class of ’64. She had a career in the Banking and Mortgage field before retiring to become the most awesome granny to her long-awaited and most cherished grandchildren. Carol was a loving mom, sister, granny, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cooking and baking and had a passion for making holidays and special occasions a real treat. Carol had a great sense of humor and brought fun and frivolity to any gathering of family and friends. She was an active member of Beallwood Baptist Church of Columbus. She enjoyed music, weekly family dinner and game nights, studying her bible, laughing at good jokes, following politics, and visiting her favorite vacation destination to watch the waves breaking on the beach. The passion of her heart was giving to others and living her life in a way pleasing to the Lord. She will be greatly and forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Bill and Lillian Griffin, daughter Kimberly McNeil, her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Cathy Griffin, and her niece Jennifer Holley.
